VISION FOR CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP CHURCH

In 2006 a select group of people who are part of our Church engaged in a prayerful process of listening to God.  We wanted to hear what God wanted for our small fellowship of believers.

CFC VISION

Christian Fellowship Church has been chosen by God to be a healthy-healing church that God will use to plant, root and grow up in faith, love and in his His healing grace.

What does it mean to be a healthy church? For us it means that:

Worship will be a genuine and enthusiastic expression of our love for God, inspired by God’s love for us.  As followers of Jesus Christ, we will be deeply committed to prayer, to holistic small groups, and to working with people to discern God’s calling.  We will train them to find and exercise their God given ministry and mission.

We trust that God will use Christian Fellowship Church to bring residents who have no church home as well as newcomers to our community into a living relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ.  We will see those who do have a relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord grow deeper in their knowledge and love of him, and we will see children and youth grounded in eternal life-giving truths.  Showing love and compassion towards one another we shall, by the power of the Holy Spirit, impart God’s healing to the hurting and freedom to those in bondage through Christ our Lord and Saviour.

What does it mean to be a healing church?

We wrestled with this question and determined that our focus had to be outward.  We prayed and felt that God was leading us to be a prayer centre for healing.  During that time there was a Church in Sherwood Park that was active in healing and training others in prayer ministry.  A group of us went and were so impressed.  They had been connect to The International Association for Healing Rooms based out of Spokane, Washington.

After getting connected with others in Spruce Grove and Stony Plain who had an interest in Healing Ministry, a dozen of us travelled to Spokane for training.  Tree of Life Healing Rooms was launched on August 10, 2007, with Christian Fellowship church hosting it.  Subsequently we have prayed for hundreds of people through the years.
