Abe getting ready to help
with renovations |
|
Initially we met in a room at Broxton Park School for the first
8 years, until a decision was made to purchase the Provincial
Government Liquor store on July 24, 1994. After extensive
renovations, we held our first service on September 17, 1995
after a historic march from Broxton Park School.
|
|
We embarked on a frenzy of fund raising events such as bake
sales, garage sales, suppers, talent shows, choir presentations,
teas and raffles to help raise cash for the renovations. Work
parties were set up and many people helped with the building
renovations.
The different stages of
renovations took place over a long period of time due to the
shortage of funds for building materials and volunteer labor.

Construction volunteers, sitting in an area that is presently our prayer
garden, take a well deserved lunch break and a time of
fellowship. We enjoyed this time in
our past and even today the F in
our name continues to be all about....

- BUILDING
- Our church building, which is approximately 11,000 square feet, use
to be a provincially owned liquor store. It is fully setup for the handicapped and
is wheelchair accessible. Claiming such a building for the Lord is something we take great
pleasure in. A real change in "Spirits".

- OUR FAITH
- We are a Christian Church, thus worshiping Jesus Christ, our Lord and
Savior. We believe that the Bible, including the Old and New Testament is the complete and
accurate inspired word of God. John 3:16-17 puts it best when it says "16For
God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him
shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the
world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." For our
statement of faith, check out What We Believe.
